# How to read this record

The epistemic contract runs through every chapter of this record. This page collects it in one place, so a reader who wants to grade the work knows exactly what standard it holds itself to, and where to look when checking.

**Falsification first**

Claims in this record are registered as tests before they are believed. A hypothesis is written down with the condition that would kill it, the measurement is run, and the outcome is reported whichever way it lands. The chapters state their falsifiers in their own text: the pre-registered gates of the Part IV experiments, the four falsification predicates of Chapter 23, the six pre-registered hypotheses of Chapter 24, each carrying the observation that would prove it wrong.

The record keeps its failures. Chapter 14 reports a falsified primary hypothesis in full and builds the paper around what the falsification revealed. Chapter 16's appendix reports two FAILs beside one PASS. Chapter 21 reports a six-round honest negative and the architectural redirect it forced. Part III exists because the failure record is placed at the centre of the book deliberately: a reader who has seen the failures reported honestly has reason to believe the results.

**The sealing discipline**

Experiments are sealed before they are run. The design, the gates, and the predictions are fixed and hashed ahead of measurement, so the hypothesis cannot quietly move to meet the result. Chapter 19 prints its pre-registration hash in its front matter; the Part IV chapters name their seal dates; sealed text is never edited afterward. When reality moves after a seal, the record appends rather than rewrites: the System Update sections that close many chapters are dated additions at a marked position, and the sealed body above them is unmodified. Where wording must be corrected, the correction is a visible corrigendum, not a silent edit.

**The provenance model**

Every chapter page carries its source version in its footer. A version ledger governs what publishes: nothing below v1.0.0 goes live. The keystone argument itself was held unpublished at v0.1.0 until it cleared the same gate, because the gate applies to the author's own favorite first. Receipts are printed rather than summarized: telemetry counts, commit anchors, brain-entry identifiers, and filesystem paths appear as they are, and the appendices reproduce raw operational artifacts verbatim, marked as exhibits with their editorial treatment declared. Where an artifact is quoted evidence, it keeps its original punctuation and paths; the authored chapters follow the house voice.

**Registers, declared per chapter**

Not every chapter claims the same kind of truth, and each one says which kind it claims in its own opening: field record, evidence-backed result, living document, or design-tier scaffold. Where a chapter is aspiration, it is tagged as aspiration per claim. Chapter 24 carries a full evidence matrix (26 ground-truth, 4 corrected, 7 aspirational rows) and treats the tagging discipline itself as the contribution. Horizons are gates, not commitments.

**AI assistance, disclosed**

Large language models were used as research tools throughout this work, and each chapter's references child discloses the models and roles involved, by version where recorded, with the gaps stated rather than invented. No AI system is credited as an author. The author verified every claim against the sealed artifacts and is solely accountable for the record.

**What the record does not claim**

This is a single-operator record from a single substrate. Its remediations are existence proofs, not population studies, and each chapter's limitations section says so in its own terms. The claim is narrower and harder: that every number here can be traced to a receipt, that every experiment could have failed and some did, and that the discipline which produced the record is documented well enough to be checked, ported, and broken by someone else.

That is the reading contract. The record stands on it.
